Office Building Type
.Using Minimalism, Universal Design, and modular building types, this office building is comprised of eight individual office spaces, each composed of 8'x20' modules designating the different programmatic areas of the office. Located in Port Allen, an area recently affected by severe flooding, my goal is to create a site that is universal and modern while integrating local culture and community. I am also creating original, minimal, multi-use, collapsible furniture for the project. Shown below is the design concept statement, module configuration floorplan, first floor office building plan, axonometric office building view, and furniture axonometric and renders done using Revit and Photoshop. - in progress project; additional work to follow
Bluebonnet Regional Library Lighting
This project is a lighting study of Bluebonnet Regional Library located in Baton Rouge, LA. The floorplan and ceiling plan shown below are remodeled design solutions that I created in order to maximize daylighting and enhance reading areas within the space. I removed all artificial lighting, elevated the roof to add clerestory windows, and added skylights along the ridge of the roof pitch. The portion of the library that I redesigned is the children's section, which gave me a little more leeway for creativity. I altered the columns within the space to transform them in to a tree trunk design topped with green mesh, transparent canopies that hide skylights behind it and diffuse light throughout the room. I also moved some book shelves to create a more clear circulation path to the added reading areas in front of large, church-like windows. I added tables and reading spaces perpendicular to windows to maximize the amount of light available for working. Materials used throughout the space play on a child-like reading forest theme. I traveled to the site with a light meter to take light measurements of work surfaces and input my floorplan and design solution into AGI32 Lighting Program to calculate the new light measurements for the spaces. Plans, elevations, and renders are done using Revit, edited in Photoshop.
3Dimensions Retail Store
This project integrates modern 3D printing technology with local Baton Rouge culture, architecture, and design. 3Dimensions is a 3D printing retail store fictionally located in the Perkins Rowe shopping center in Baton Rouge, LA. Using AutoCAD, I created plans to section off different points of sale and emphasize circulation between sections. I also designed original retail furniture and lighting fixtures that uses 3D printed mesh as a design inspiration. The cash wrap is located with direct visibility of front entrance for security measures and storage, 3D printing, hold/supply closet ,and back work room are hidden behind the cash wrap area, so as to not attract customer attention. Restrooms are also located toward the rear end of the store to provide privacy to customers. Plans and elevations were done using AutoCAD and renderings were hand drawn in Photoshop.
Fresh Market Convenience Store
Submission for the Retail Design Institute Student Competition 2016. The original convenience store design is located in a business park area in California. There is an emphasis placed on sustainability and community integration. Plans and elevations were done using AutoCAD. The renderings were done based off a handmade 3D scaled model brought into Photoshop for rendering.
